Not favored: Blue Snowball bluemic.com/snowball/ I don't recommend it. I have no real opinion regarding its sound, but find it unsatisfactory for research for two reasons: - while it is technically a directional mic (cardioid), it's polar pattern shows (IMHO) insufficient rejection to the rear. cdn.bluemic.com/images/snowball/specs1lg.jpg
- It only sends a 16-bit signal to the computer. Academic/archival standards - based on the dynamic range of the human ear - define best practice as 24-bit.

I recommend the MMPSM-Pro, by MM-Audio: - Has an extremely flat frequency response across 20-20,000 Hz
- The wearer easily forgets about it, producing very natural recordings
- Quality ranks with the E6 Countryman in both functionality and performance, yet at one-third the price
Drawbacks: - Attached earlobes pose problems. Having a dual-ear model (http://www.microphonemadness.com/products/mmdpsm1.htm) in your kit solves this.
- ordering for a field recording kit is specialized. This is resolved with these instructions:MM-PSM_mic_purchase_instructions.pdf (55.54 KB)

Will, I was looking through your ordering instructions for the MM-PSM Pro, and I ran into one discrepancy. I was looking on their website, but I didn't see the "Other" option listed in the wireless system drop down menu. Would you advise selecting the blank option and continuing with the checkout as listed in the rest of the directions?
